Vian and Jacob planned a Finest Playa Mujeres weekend wedding surrounded by their family and friends. Their breakout events were immersed in the coastal tapestry of the city by the shore with views of palapas and towering palm trees.

The night before their wedding, Vian and Jacob welcomed guests with a Dam Goi engagement ceremony, honoring the bride’s Vietnamese heritage. In keeping with tradition, Vian wore a brightly colored Ao Dai with rich tones of red, accented by gold. The tea ceremony is meant to honor elders in exchange for blessings bestowed upon the soon-to-be married couple. 

The symbolic ceremony marked the beginning of Vian & Jacobs weekend of celebrations. At the very center of it all was a homage to their love story, set to the tune of the gently ebbing turquoise waters of the Caribbean lapping against the shore.

A Cancun Destination Wedding Honoring Vietnamese & Western Wedding Traditions

Traditional Mexican folk music, shots of tequila, and seaside views brought together Vian and Jacobs Cancun destination wedding. The Cancun resort offers destination wedding ceremonies directly overlooking the sea. Available spaces include beachfront wedding ceremonies or unions taking place in the resort’s modern gazebo.

When the day of their wedding arrived, Vian and Jacob said I do with a ceremony in the open-air gazebo. As the soft soothing sound of the tide filled the air, Vian & Jacob were joined in marriage, surrounded by those they cherish the most. Their joyful union was immediately followed by an exuberant cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed vibrant libations and the bright sounds of live Mariachi music as they awaited the newlyweds.

Following their ceremony, I worked with Vian and Jacob to explore the resort, capturing Finest Playa Mujeres wedding photography. The resort features modern architecture set against the tropical landscape of the coast. Bright white buildings were juxtaposed with lush green palm trees that swayed with the wind. Each moment spent in this alluring landscape with Vian and Jacob was focused on creating new memories. Cherished occasions to be recalled throughout their lifetime together.

Following cocktail hour, an open-air wedding reception awaited. Guests were escorted to their seats with a ‘welcome’ shot of tequila featuring lime wedges with seating cards. Lush white floral arrangements, and stem vases of warm yellow florals, along with design & decor were provided by Finest Play Mujeres.

As the sun began to set over the horizon, Vian, Jacob, and their guests took to the dance floor for the party of a lifetime. With drinks in hand and lights glowing overhead, the newly married couple danced the night away with their family and friends.
