An archaeological wonder, the Painted Mines in Colorado Springs spans over 760 acres and dates back thousands of years. Located 45 minutes outside of Colorado Springs, a day spent at the Painted Mines is one filled with exploration & wonder. The vibrant, colorful landscape is unlike any other. It features bands of natural clay and its own ecological system, complete with local inhabitants. You’ll also find over four miles of trails, with 500 feet of elevation. Making the beautiful park a tourist attraction and a hotspot for avid hikers. Undoubtedly, it’s also one of my favorite locations for capturing engagement photos in Colorado Springs. Below, I’ve included the details & information needed for visiting the park.

For many couples, engagement photography is the first step in many photographed pre-wedding events. Many find it difficult to allow themselves to be fully immersed in the moment. Especially if they feel that tourists and hikers are watching from afar.
Ensuring a private, or at least semi-private, experience for my couples while capturing their engagement photos is a factor that takes precedence during the scheduling process. This beautiful moment, right after the proposal but before your wedding, is one to savor to the fullest extent. To be in one another’s arms without the persistent buzz of wedding planning and the constant mandate of never-ending decisions. This moment is yours to reflect on for a lifetime, and it all begins with selecting a location that embodies the essence of your story.
Are you dreaming of capturing your Colorado engagement photos at the Painted Mines or another stunning location? I firmly believe that the location you select for your engagement photos should embody your exceptional story. While also showcasing the stunning landscapes that Colorado is known for.
