This Grbic wedding in St. Louis is modern and elegant.
The couple, Mallory and Austin originally met on Bumble. They quickly arranged a first date at the nearby Molly’s in Soulard. What was meant to be a brunch date turned into four hours of talking, laughing, and connecting. Since that fateful first date, Molly’s has since served in the couple’s life as their go-to place for celebrating milestones. From birthdays and anniversaries to Austin’s proposal, they all took place at Molly’s. Knowing that Molly’s has been such a constant cornerstone of their relationship, there was no doubt in my mind that we had to pay homage to their spot, on the day of their wedding.
As a wedding photographer, there exists these moments when I catch a glimpse into the details that bring a couple’s story to life. Whether it’s being let in on their favorite local spot, seeing the way they look at each other, or watching the details of their wedding day unfold. Each of these is just a mere flash of inspiration to focus on capturing what is of the utmost importance to them during their wedding. While my couples often provide me with the big details of their upcoming wedding, such as how they met, or their proposal story; seeing the dynamic they share and how those around them celebrate their love, is what curates the most amazing wedding photography experience.
It’s easy for me to say that the details of Mallory and Austin’s Grbic wedding in St Louis were stunning and posh. The florals were lush and the color palette was crisp with an earthy overtone. There were details with hints of glam, steeped in romance. But that would only be what’s obvious at first glance, which omits the deeper side of their story. The side of their story that was written by the bridal party when they first laid eyes on Mallory in her wedding gown and erupted in cheer. Or the side of their story that left Austin in a flood of happy tears after meeting his bride for their first look at a gorgeous landscape nearby.
But, by far the best details of their wedding day were during the ceremony. The intermingling feelings of joy, excitement, and anticipation from the bride and groom as they were joined in marriage. Coupled with that were the deep-seated emotions from Mallory and Austin’s parents who looked on to see their children, now grown, find love in the purest form. It was an honor to be among such a coming together of love. Furthermore, the decor & planning details of the bride and groom’s wedding day were a vibrant representation of their story, all thanks to some of the most amazing industry talent in St Louis.
